Worship Services

At Mission Valley United Methodist Church, worship is the heart of our community. Here you’ll find information about our regular weekly gatherings as well as special seasonal and community services throughout the year. Whether you are a longtime churchgoer or are exploring faith for the first time, this is a place where you belong. You’re invited to come as you are - in jeans or Sunday best - and worship with a community rooted in love, grace, and hope. Join us as we come together to pray, sing, learn, and grow in faith.

Sunday Morning Worship

We gather every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. for worship that is heartfelt, grounded in Scripture, and open to all. Communion is celebrated on the first and third Sundays of each month - and all are welcome at Christ’s table.

Throughout the year, we mark special Sundays that deepen our faith and celebrate the life of our church:

World Communion Sunday - First Sunday in October

We join Christians around the globe in celebrating our shared faith and unity through Holy Communion.

Native American Ministries Sunday

Typically observed the third Sunday after Easter, we celebrate it on the weekend of Indigenous People’s Day. Our Native neighbors lead us in worship through song, dance, music, and the sharing of a message.

Laity Sunday - Third Sunday in October

Our congregation’s lay members lead all parts of worship, lifting up the gifts and leadership of the people of God.

All Saints Sunday - First Sunday in November

We remember and honor those who have passed in the past year by naming them, lighting candles in their memory, and sharing in a special litany of remembrance.

Advent - November 30 - December 21, 2025

Each week we light the Advent Wreath, preparing our hearts for Christ’s coming. This year’s Advent sermon series, Creating With God: The Holy Confusing Blessedness of Pregnancy by Sarah Jobe, invites us to walk with Mary through the waiting and wonder of Christ’s birth.

Christmas Eve

Join us at 6:00 p.m. for a candlelight service celebrating the birth of Jesus, filled with carols, Scripture, and joy.
